Now I been Chi Running for a while I must say that one benefit is that I am now increasingly more able to focus my attention on my movements and be more intentional with my running form. I think that one of the things that Chi Running means for me is moving more intentionally and more precisely. I enjoy this because it gives me pleasure when I have taken my mind totally away from the thoughts of daily life. I enjoy it because it makes me a better runner. I am in no way a perfect example of running form, but I am (gradually!) learning to run better. I am also becoming a lot more aware of my running form and od what I need to do to improve. Moving more intentially and more precisely is becoming a very rewarding process.
I noticed today that towards the end of the 500m session I was able to run with relatively less effort. I also enjoyed my session. I asked another runner if they enjoyed their run. The reply was "no – I wouldn’t say I enjoyed it," which I aften hear. I guess it’s a personal thing, but for me I set out to enjoy every run I do, no matter how much ‘hard work’ might be ahead. It might sound strange, but I don’t like the idea of hard work when I’m running and I’ll do everything I can to be efficient with my energy.
